An inspirational memoir about living life on your own terms.
I’ve spent most of my professional life in and out of work. On balance, probably more out, than in – not necessarily through choice or wrongdoing. But, as a result, there are some ‘gaps’ in my employment history.
During one of those ‘between job’ periods, a friend handed me an article from the Financial Times. The title yelled, “Gaps on your CV? Professional Suicide! Do anything, but don’t have gaps!”
It enraged me. Intent on demonstrating the importance of gaps, I took to my keyboard. I battered out all the wonderful things I’d done and achieved during those enforced gaps. As far as I was concerned, the gaps are where life happens!
But, as in real life, things often don’t turn out the way we expect. A year or so later, with the original manuscript in hand, an editor in my ear, and yet another gap to fill, I re-wrote The Gap. By which time I was ready to put my very private life into your hands.
I don’t know how you’ve come to my story, and perhaps you don’t either, but I sincerely hope you not only enjoy travelling with me but come to unlock the path to your dreams, too.
Best Wishes,
Kim
