And therein lies the creation of my cheeky chimp friend, Scratch. He began life as a columnist in Australia. He positively delights in offering an
alternative perspective on his readers’ dilemmas, and he’s often likened to Dorothy Dicks; he’s what the Brits would call an ‘agony aunt.’ Scratch is a curious, inquisitive fellow with a rebellious streak. He likes to solve complex problems and disrupt things for the greater good.
My driving force
Despite being successful in my ‘career,’ friends and colleagues have occasionally offered unsolicited suggestions as to what I should do. I’ve rebuked none of these suggestions – in fact, I’d go so far to say they often resonated with me. I had no idea why more to the point, what or whom I’d mentor/write about/give guidance on/design. But I did know I had far more to offer than my so-called professional skills.
